Collaborating with clients and vendors in creative brainstorming sessions are one of the things Margarite enjoys most about the planning process. Great at problem solving, Margarite is known to jump in to help troubleshoot and course correct when the unexpected arises. Event planning has provided Margarite with the opportunity to assist schools, community organizations, medical research and more through fundraising and sponsorship, work that she has found to be quite rewarding. Recent projects include chairing the 2015 International Live Events Association (ILEA) Gala and Silent Auction committee and working with the 2015 planning committee for Theatre Collingwood Gala “En Blanc”. Margarite is currently working with Special Olympics Canada on sponsorship and fundraising initiatives. Margarite holds professional accreditations including the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (WPIC) Coordinator Certification, the WPIC Destination Wedding Coordinator Certification, and the Gay Wedding Institute Certification. In 2011, Margarite received the Volunteer of the Year award at the Collingwood Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business Awards
